Shortly after arriving in Cincinnati in 2004 Maureen Kennedy founded the award-winning Irish American Theater Company.  She currently serves as the Artistic Director. The Irish American Theater Company was admitted to the Acting Irish International Theatre Festival in 2007. This unique festival features full-length plays written by Irish authors or plays that are set in Ireland. The plays are performed by select theater groups from the United States, Canada and Ireland.  We hosted the festival in 2015.  Audiences of all ages celebrated and enjoyed these

entertaining  glimpses into the Irish way of life. 

In May 2017, The Irish American Theater Company “brought home the gold” from the 24th Annual Acting Irish International Theatre Festival! Outside Mullingar secured the Best Show Award.  This set the stage, so to speak, for a succession of the IATC “Bests” – Best Actor, Actress, Supporting Actor, and Director . . .plus Technical Excellence in Set Design and Lighting Design.
